To learn more or purchase your tickets\, please visit https://tombstones22.eventbrite.com \nExperience the personal stories of some of Clinton County’s famous and historical citizens who now lie at rest among the landscape of this beautiful “outdoor museum” called Sugar Grove Cemetery. \nJoin the History Center for self-guided walking tours to meet many of the people who made Clinton County what it is today. \nCostumed interpreters will represent residents from the past and await you at their gravestones. \nU.S. Congressional Representative\, Matthew Rombach Denver\, George M. Austin – Wilmington physician and world renowned geologist and archaeologist\, Judge Charles Kirk & Mrs. Dorothy Kirk\, Commodore William Fitzhugh\, the Sabin Family— and many more will be there! \nBring the entire family to enjoy this unique historical experience\, open to all ages! \n\nSelf-guided tours depart every 15 minutes during the event. Please arrive promptly 5-10 minutes prior to your ticketed time for check-in purposes.\n\nComfortable walking shoes are encouraged. Limited golf cart transportation shuttle stops will be available for those with restricted mobility. Handicap parking will be inside the cemetery gates\, all other parking will be located along Truesdell and Mulberry Streets as well as the parking lot near the bike path (parking map coming soon). \nPre-sale tickets are available online or for purchase at the History Center at 149 E. Locust St. from September 2- Oct 1. These “Township Talks” will be open to both members and non-members at no cost. Only 60 tickets available.  \nJoin the Society for another lively afternoon tea on the lawn of historic Rombach Place. Weather dependent\, this event will be outdoors (moved inside if raining)\, so please dress accordingly and bring your best parasol. Enjoy tea\, and talk with Louise Rombach-Denver – former matriarch of Rombach Place – while learning about the famous family who called our museum home. Bite-sized foods and a variety of teas will be served over the course of a two hour period. Sample a delightful selection of savory sandwiches\, scrumptious scones\, splendid sweets\, and more!\n\nActive History Center members enjoy $10.00 off event tickets w/ their special promo code.\nMembers: $25 per ticket\, Non-members: $35 per ticket\nChildren (14 or younger): $12.50 with the purchase of an adult tix.\n\n\nWe encourage you to dress in your best 20th Century attire to enjoy the program. SUMMARY:Reopening for the 2022 Season
DESCRIPTION:The History Center will be reopening for the 2022 season on Friday\, March 4 and Saturday\, March 5. Public hours will be Fridays 1-4pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm throughout the season. Both our Genealogy Library and Museum will be opening to the public. As a reminder\, all active Genealogical Society and Historical Society members or children younger than 14 visit for FREE. Non-members are $5 each per visit. \nThis year\, the museum will be featuring a brand new exhibit showcasing the transportation methods of Clinton Countian’s from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This exhibit will also feature items community members often packed with them on their journeys\, such as steamer trunks\, vintage clothing\, accessories\, and more! The display\, titled: Junk in Your Trunk\, will be available to view for the 2022 season.

DESCRIPTION:The Society’s historic museum will be closing to the public for the 2021 season on Saturday\, December 18. We will offer tours on December 18 from 10am to 2pm. A variety of Christmas pastimes and objects are on display for the holiday season. DESCRIPTION:The Genealogy Research Library will be closing for the season on Saturday\, November 20. The last day to visit for genealogy assistance or research is November 20 from 10am to 2pm. Please note\, the Genealogy Library is volunteer run and many of our generous volunteers travel  south for the winter. \nWe do offer research services for the three months the library is closed. Should you wish to have a question researched\, we ask for a $25 minimum donation which is used to purchase more supplies such as ink\, paper\, and archival materials. Join the History Center for a self-guided walking tour to meet many of the people who made Clinton County what it is today. \nCostumed interpreters will represent residents from the past and await you at their gravestones. \nGeneral James W. Denver and his wife\, Louise\, Azariah Doan\, Robert Wickersham\, Sarah and Daniel J. Foland\, Mary E. Taylor Adams – the first local Civil War nurse — and many more\, and the 48th Ohio Civil War Reenactors will be there! \nThe Kava Kart will offering coffee and other hot beverages for purchase during the 4-6pm time slots of the tour. \nBring the entire family to enjoy this unique historical experience! Self-guided tours depart every half hour during the two time slots. Please arrive promptly 5-10 minutes prior to your ticketed time for check-in purposes. Picnic will be inside the Clark Lodge.\nDirections to Quaker Knoll Campground at 165 Sprague Road\, 45177:\nFrom Wilmington go west on Rt 730 (Truesdell Street) out of town. Past the Equestrian Center turn left onto Sprague Road. At the sign turn left onto a gravel road leading back to the Camp. Through the gate\, follow the road and park behind the Lodge. Enter around front.
